We’re thrilled to update you on the progress of the Roseland Park and Crematorium development, a project that is transforming the area and creating a peaceful, beautiful space for everyone in the community. Here’s what’s been happening and what’s coming up over the next few months.
Over the last few months, a lot has been accomplished, and we’re excited to share the updates:
External Work Finished: We’re done with all the brick and blockwork on the outside of the buildings. A big thank you to Phillips Brickwork for their hard work in getting this phase completed.
Building the Courtyards: Construction has started on the Gathering Courtyard and the Flower Court – two beautiful outdoor spaces that will provide visitors with peaceful spots to reflect and remember loved ones.
Crematorium Roof: The flat roof section of the crematorium building is now complete, which is a big step forward.
Roofing Work: The installation of the roof on both the crematorium and wake buildings has been completed by Midland Steel Decking Ltd and All Aspects Roofing Ltd, who will continue to ensure the buildings are fully watertight ready for the seasons to change.
Interior Work: We have begun work on the inside of the buildings, starting with the internal walls, plasterboard and floor screeding. This will help bring the crematorium and wake buildings closer to being ready for use.
External Landscaping: The next stage of landscaping will focus on paving and installing resin-bound surfaces, pathways and water features around the buildings. This will make the area even more accessible and create a smooth, welcoming environment for visitors.
Growth in the Parkland: The trees and hedges around the park are already starting to establish. We have been planting meadow grassland and diverse plants and bushes to add even more natural beauty to the area.
The Roseland Park and Crematorium won't just be a place for remembrance – it will be a community space where everyone can come to reflect, enjoy nature, and find peace. As the project moves forward, we’re excited to see how it will become a meaningful part of our community.
We are working with Derby-based agency, Think3, to develop the brand and build a new website housing all of the digital services required by users, ready for opening next year.
